Yesterday night my Life Group "Developing Your Leadership Skills"
started. The curriculum is based on Equip, John Maxwell's Million
Leaders Mandate material. One of the things that struck me in
yesterday's material, is that light influences the houses we live in.
With light you can create a great atmosphere or you can totally destroy
it.
Yesterday Eva and I went grocery shopping in a supermarket in the
center of Hilversum. It supposedly is one of the cheaper stores in

I am having a great time and meet many of my colleagues and pastor friends. Main speaker at the conference is Foursquare president Jack Hayford.
One of the things I like to do is take a walk along the Vecht, a river that flows right next door to De Bron. Not far from De Bron is a dam and a flood gate that help to keep the water level high enough for boats to ride this river. The flood gate and the dam cause a problem though for fish: they cannot swim upstream! The solution to that problem is a “vistrap” (fish stairway). It will still cost the fish some energy to get upstream, but now it is a hurdle they can actually take.

When I travel to the head office of the VPE (A/G Netherlands), I usually never get stuck in traffic. As a matter of fact, I travel in the opposite direction of all the people who live in Almere and work in Amsterdam. The only minor hold-up is in Naarden, a neighboring community from the Hilversumse Meent, where we live. |
